Certainly interesting start ..

The day will come that our current fuels either won't be available or wont be economically viable..... so it's good to see someone exploring alternatives that should work outside a city....

I really like it. I'd have one if the price was right. 350km range is spot on. As soon as they develop tech for quick charge or charge on the run (solar?), diesel and petrol will go the way of the dinosaurs.

Battery tech like discussed here (Future batteries, coming soon: Charge in seconds, last months and power over the air - Pocket-lint (http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/130380-future-batteries-coming-soon-charge-in-seconds-last-months-and-power-over-the-air)) will also potentially change things up a bit. I cant wait.

my point was a simple mod to a 'normal' motor, (a snorkel), enables pretty decent wading depths,

With the electronics/motors in the floor, you wouldn't want to get it too wet!

Graphene batteries are the future. One company has developed a new battery, called Grabat, that could offer electric cars a driving range of up to 500 miles on a charge.

Graphenano, the company behind the development, says the batteries can be charged to full in just a few minutes. It can charge and discharge 33 times faster than lithium ion. Discharge is also crucial for things like cars that want vast amounts of power in order to pull away quickly.

The capacity of the 2.3V Grabat is huge with around 1000 Wh/kg which compares to lithium ion's current 180 Wh/kg. The best part of all this is that these batteries should be ready to go by mid way through 2016.

I would love to have a battery for mine. San my 2 tanks of fuel and engine I think I could almost end up lighter.

If the range was 600km or better I think we all would look at it. Suspect the comments about not needing a snorkel are on the money. Chatted with a Tesla model x salesman re wading depth and his claims of 4wd. Wading was not a problem.

Range quotes for anything when put off road go to hell. Sub 10l per 100km sinks a lot often of road. B1 might need a B2 with a new battery tech[biggrin]
