Discovered this evening that I am minus my drivers side low beam. Instead of replacing with halogen, I considered trying LED, something like: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PHILIPS-H7-252W-28000LM-LED-Headlight-kit-Driving-Lamp-Globes-Canbus-ERROR-FREE-/263038741889?hash=item3d3e54ad81:g:NHIAAOSwnK9ZQjR r (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/H7-CREE-LED-Car-Headlight-Kit-120W-22000LM-Beam-Bulb-6000K-Replace-Halogen-Xenon-/172753891249?hash=item2838ef2fb1:g:MusAAOSwXetZVHO 7)
anyone tried LEDs?

Nugget and Incisor have recently, I believe. Check Members Rides.

LINK Title says Phillips but item description seems to suggest cheap generic Chinese, especially at the price, decent branded LEDs cost a lost more than that.
Also retrofitting these lights are not very eye friendly to other on coming road users, so it depends how strict cops are whether they will ping you for them.
Ask seller if they are ADR approved and road legal.

Ask seller if they are ADR approved and road legal.Doesn't mean anything these days with self-assessment and no compliance testing unless complaints are made.

Agree about link, firstly copied the link to cheap units, then to Philips,
PHILIPS H7 252W 28000LM LED Headlight kit Driving Lamp Globes Canbus ERROR FREE | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PHILIPS-H7-252W-28000LM-LED-Headlight-kit-Driving-Lamp-Globes-Canbus-ERROR-FREE-/263038741889?hash=item3d3e54ad81:g:NHIAAOSwnK9ZQjR r)
but link stayed ... this one is working
Philips are still only about $50 pr, which is similar to good QH bulbs ... hence the thought to try LED.
As high, low and fog use same bulb I might try a pair, and if beam is not cutoff enough, can always use in high or fog.

I'm more interested in LEDs for the rest of the L322. The reason is when camping the doors are frequently opening, the tail gate is often open. I don't really want to turn the lights off to conserve power. I have a 2nd battery. But a feel of the heat from incandescent lights on the upper tailgate tells you how much power the lights consume. And there's a lot of them. Only the rear power outlet is powered from the 2 battery.
So the herd of incandescent bulbs are draining the cranker. Not good if you're off the beaten track.

I fitted LEDs in the tailgate for exactly this reason. Much brighter light and much less current drain. I've had issues in the past, no troubles at all on the last trip. Recommended. I got the warm white.

Fitted the LED lamps in the high beams today, and just back from a night time test drive .... they will be staying, they make an amazing difference to high beam, and I do not think i'll bother with other additional driving lamps. Need to install resistors as a bit of flashing when you turn on headlights, but liveable for now. Had serious grief getting the lamp clamps back in place, had to remove headlights to get pliers in the right place to coax the clamps into place.
maybe the +50 lamps will sort out low beam, and stay legal too.

So which LED did you end up fitting to the high beams? I would like more light on Hi Beam for night time driving also.

H7 180W Philips 28000LM White LED Headlight Lamp Kit Globes Bulb Canbus AU STOCK (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/H7-180W-Philips-28000LM-White-LED-Headlight-Lamp-Kit-Globes-Bulb-Canbus-AU-STOCK/262791990089'ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2748.l2649)
I've also ordered:
2X H7 CANBUS Headlight Fog Light Load Resistor LED Error Free Canceller Decoder | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2X-H7-CANBUS-Headlight-Fog-Light-Load-Resistor-LED-Error-Free-Canceller-Decoder/302160381235'ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649)
to see if they do the 'resister' job and stop the flashing/bulb testing.
The body of the bulb is larger diameter to the QI bulbs, so had to massage the bulb retaining springs so it would all fit

Hey rrturboD,
Did the resistor do the job or not,
Am thinking of upgrading my HB to LED.
Thanks
cheers

The 'resister' did nothing ... so am going to use:

which I used setting up my trailer connector, and it stopped the test flashes etc.

Have not won on CANBUS compliance ... tried the resistors, still bulb flashes as the car checks lamps, so now looking for CANBUS compliant LED bulbs, which seem to exist in UK market but not Aussie.
Anyone succeeded in getting Canbus compliant LED bulbs to either high or low beam?

Is the flashing occurring while the lights are off?
Also, are the headlights being reported as faulty?

Can the. Lights be run through a relay so the canbus reads the relay and not the bulbs??
Graeme

If the problem is just that the lights flicker when off then a relay will fix this issue because the relay wont have time to pull in. If the lights are being reported as failed due to insufficient load then a load resistor across the relay coil should fix that issue. Its the same fix as LED trailer blinkers with a D3.

I replaced all lnternal lights with LEDs with the exception of those in the vanity mirrors - the kit supplied the wrong lamps. I need to check if that size bulb is available in LED fuse lamps. (I only found out about LED versions of fuse lamps last weekend while looking for fuse lamps for my old Harmon Kardon stereo receiver.)
The only error message I got was for the number plate lights. I had to turn off the checking of those.

There is no flashing when the vehicle is turned off.
The lights go through a rapid multi flash (one side then other) when ignition first turned on, then every so on after that while motor is running.
Unless I am parked against a wall, or at night, I am not aware of the flashing. It has been reported by drivers travelling in front, who see it in their rear view mirrors.
There are no faulty lights reported.

In which case powering the lights using relays operated by the original wire to the lights should be the cure.

Fit a relay to power the bulbs - the relay needs more than the test pulse to turn on. This will stop the flicker.
The car will probably then report a globe fault - easiest fix is to turn off the cold test for the main beam, setting in the LCM. Warm test will still report on failed globe as it tests when it is turned on only.
Turning off the cold test will stop the periodic test flicker, but most circuits will still flicker when the ignition is first turned on.
Fitting a resistor to satisfy the test will hide a globe fault on the warm test too.
