Hey All,
Someone needs to get more off road me thinks, rather than just bush bashing around at home. Gotsa get me kicks somehow, though will be going to see my local tracks soon with some of the lads from GCLRO. So click on link ( or copy and paste) and for larger pic, just click on a pic. Also is a pic of the best of British for those who are into other marques. Hope everyone had a great Australia day

Hey Loadeddisco, look forward to getting off road, and catching up at the next GCLRO meet. And maggot and captain rightfoot, no not an aston but a bentley continental GT, Id like it to be mine, it is my fathers, so since he braved my driveway i it took the opportunity to take a "best of British" pic of the 2 cars.

G'day again,
yes as pointed out it is a bentley, V12, 0-100 in 4.8 secs, this baby powers, hear the rumble a mile away, though my D3 with the V8 stacks up well on the rumble part https://www.aulro.com/afvb/. Nah Captain Rightfoot, no stones, it also has air suspension so he put it up on high before gingerly going back down the driveway. Also looking forward to meeting yaself Steinzy, havent checked your other thread as of yet, but hope all is looking good for the car and the weekend. have made mental note to steer clear of Caltex's, plus I cant use my card there anymore from 1/2/06 so up them anyway https://www.aulro.com/afvb/,

Someone has too much money :!:
Or at least HAD too much money before they bought those cars.
And yes, it's ONLY a Bentley.
My 'money no object' dream car is an Aston Martin DB9.
My 'money is an object' car is my 200Tdi Defender https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

If I could afford the grill of the Bentley I would have lots of money.
Don't begrudge anyone having one though, would love to have that much to spend on transport.

Hey again,
I must admit Im a bit on Vlad's side I am more an Aston Martin man myself, the new V8 Vantage is a ripsnorter. I am yet to get behind the wheel of the Bentley, but have been promised a cruise, cruise hah, M1 here I come https://www.aulro.com/afvb/. Having only recently bought the D3, next upgrade has to be for the missus, I am trying to convince her that she needs a GTP, that way I get the best of both worlds  ,haveagoodweekend,

A mate and his wife were lent one of those Bentleys by a friend who visited the farm and told them they were welcome to take it for a drive. Which they did. He liked it very much - it had a carved from granite feel to it. He said the accelerator predal was a misnomer - it was a speederator pedal. You squeezed the pedal and the car was going at a certain speed - end of story. Acceleration implies a time delay in reaching the required speed that simply did not exist.
In regard to the noise when they came back from the drive they were asked how they liked it. "Really nice, thank you, but we were very gentle with it of course" to which the reply was "Are you kidding? We heard you flying through the hills around the farm it sounded like you were trying to start a landslide". The car was silent inside.
Anyway he said I would like it very much and I should get one.
I think I might be more of a Aston Martin Vanquish S kind of guy. DB9 is a wonderful wonderful car don't get me wrong but it's a little "massed produced" for my taste.
Actually the car I really want is a Bristol Fighter. Strange pommy contraption built by weirdos for weirdos a worked Chrysler V10 in the front.

I think calling an Aston "mass produced" is a going a touch too far....
That Bristol thing was on Top Gear I think.
Very very highly dodgy looking bit of stuff.
Each to his own, though...... https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Hmmm... love the Aston. Top Gear loved it.
I would be very happy with a golf GTI, but that means one of my boys would have to go.... and it's not Wofie, which means it would have to be the MINI or the Lotus... I'm not sure I could bring myself to do it...

8) well i don't care about the cost or who's got what, some of us are able to have toys that others can't.
we all speak the same language,
and like land rovers
so the disco and the bentley are just other vehicles,
and their owners are like you and me.
they like what they have and we shouldn't get into cost of things issues here.
its a forum for land rover owners.

Hey All,
Be chillin folks, dont think anybody is talking it up or talking $$ or anything :? , as landy owners we have a common interest, doesn't mean people dont have other interests as well, plus lets not forget the main reason for the thread was to celebrate that I actually did a little off road without getting my beastie bogged  . If we have this local GCLRO meet on Sunday, hopefully there will be more pics to put up. Have a great day,
Regards
Stevo
