I had been reading about this and on the weekend went for a look as part of a ride on my pushy.

There was a bloke growing mushrooms in one of the tunnels in that area about 40 years ago.

Thanks for the pics of what is obviously a fairly substantial tunnel. It's a shame that these days, lovely brickwork is invariably spoiled/defaced by graffiti,....it's everywhere in Melbourne, travelling into the City yesterday, basically every flat surface along the track was covered in it.
