Can anybody recommend a car detailer in inner Melbourne. Is it better to have someone come out and do the job at your home or is it better to drop the car off at a factory? Not after a cheap job and I want inside and out and underneath and under bonnet all done to bring car back to as new condition. Thanks

Definitely take it to them. The on site guys are good, but the proper places are better. No, I don't have a recommendation as to which.

You won't get "as new", but you will get very good, if you stipulate, and then you pay. Personally, I would avoid using anyone the car yards use, unless you find one that does very high end stuff, as they tend to use glossy sprays to mask their lack of any real work. Ask the Porsche or BMW dealers who they use.
Proper detailing should be expensive.

I agree with JT on this. There are possibly some very good mobile guys out there, but they need space and to be under cover along with time.

I seem to recall a mob in the vicinity of Brunswick Road and Grantham Street (Brunswick) who were formerly mobile detailers. Perhaps my memory suggests it was Final Finish?

If it is the case, they did our D2 twice after trips to northern climes and did a great job. But as JT said, it was not a cheapie.

I had Stewart from carcare come out to my place and did a full detail inc paint protection, he was pretty reasonable and did a fantastic job, the car was undercover when he did it though!

JONNIE Panda is the man, he has a shed next to Ritter's and has been doing them for years. I've had him freshen my cars up for nearly 20 years now, he and his wife work together and do a great job. 0419400007

Thanks Guys,
I found a company in Hawthorn (Denmark st). Cleaned my car inside and out. Didn't bother with cut and polish as the pin strips will only come back again. $350 all up. Not a spec of red dust to be found. Told me that C & P would be $200 extra if I wanted it. Highly Recommend. Whilst in there he had a number of classic cars for the works. So obviously does concours etc. for clubs.
