Hi All,
Hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction as I had planned on using the car tomorrow and have paid entry to mt buller for it as well.. .
But tonight I go to use her and no dash lights and no centre console lights - aka all green lights gone!
Checked all fuses on the fuse panel but nothing blown there - dimmer switch connected (Will they work with it not connected?)
So I can't use the car at night at all since I can't see speedo or anything :( haaalp please? [bigsad][bigsad]
Should also add door running lights, interior light etc all do work, head lights and parkers etc also work

Not sure if its similar to the disco 1s, but on a disco 1 when the drivers side bumper light blows ,( I Can't remember if it is the brake or tail light) it can take out all the dash and console lights as they seem to be on the same circuit. Maybe check your rear lights?

They will not work with the dimmer switch not connected, as I found out when returning from having a Maxi fitted many years ago. BTW, I am talking the rheostat switch which dims the dash lights not the headlight switch.
I would double check it.

there is fuses under the steering column if you remove the shrouds as well.... and fuses under both front seats (acessed by sliding the seats forward). Check these before spending to much time and money on it :)

Haven't found any under there... but my rangie is... different :)
Thanks heaps guys - I am thinking its the dimmer as everything else is fine.

Philip - any idea if I could bridge the wires on that plug to see if it is the dimmer?
I know there are 3 wires for it...

No idea now as that was years ago, but one will be earth and one 12v in and the other variable volts out.
Just check for earth continuity on them and bridge the ones without continuity.

what year is the rangie ? my 1992 models have fuses in housings (that look like relays when in place) under the steering column.

see them there ... the two fuse holders with fuses poking out the top ... under the orange relay.

if you slide the passenger seat all the way forward and pop the black lid off ... more fuses. there is another couple of fuses under the drivers seat.

drivers seat fuses.
there is fuses scattered all over the place. don't remove the front pillar kick panels unless you want to tear your hair out... lots more relays and electrical rubbish there too

Hey ya Shane,
Many thanks, I'll double check them in a few hours... most of that however is ripped out of mine as I have a tdi300 fitted instead of a V8 ;) The floor is clean of old fuese looms etc.
I'll update in a few hours ;) have to finish work first. damn work... paying me money and stuff! lol

No fuses were an issue - bridged the two wires to by-pass the dimmer switch - OMG! Should be an improvement mod!
Looks heaps better :) I am chuffed its working. [bigrolf][bigrolf]
