Been looking at changing from cartridge to filter, on my S3, 3brg, 2 1/4 petrol motor.
What adapter suits, and to which later models/year were they fitted.
Had a look through the local wrecking yards.
They said they maybe able to find one if above details are supplied.
These guys still make them, new batch arriving in a couple of months. ($220 delivered)
Engine Parts (http://www.heystee-automotive.com/parts/engine/oilfilter.htm)
Maybe I can find a cheaper S/H one.
Thanks.

I don't think you will find a second hand one - I think the only engines related to this that used a spin on filter were the 2.5 development of it. These were never sold in Australia, and although there are a few private imports, the chances of finding one at a wrecker would be pretty slim.

The 90/110, County were never sold in Australia with the four cylinder motor, only the V8 or Isuzu. In fact the 90 was never sold in Australia until well into Defender production. The 200Tdi and 300Tdi are ultimately descended from this engine, but apparently the filter setup is not interchangeable.
The Santana descendant of the Rover engine did have a spin on filter, but again, this was never sold in Australia. In fact, I don't think any Santana vehicle has ever been sold here.

I wonder if there are any Santana personal imports here, I would love a PS10 but they are not 25 years old yet.

If you get onto more than one I'm interested..........I thought about this months ago, but thought they would be readily available so didn't pursue it as hard as I should have.

On a daily driver I might be able to justify the cost but for a vehicle on a Club Permit that will have infrequent oil changes I'd put up with the mess of changing the STD oil filter.
My Dormobile has a spin on filter (fitted by a previous owner), I'll have to have a look and see what type it is, I do remember that the filter was unusual and took a while to track down. Mind you, I replaced like with like and probably could have found another that fitted.
