Late model disco 4 has developed a clunk / rattle somewhere behind glovebox area. Have had centre console out and zipped tied everything loose out of the way to no avail - there were broken ties in that area, so I thought that was a winner!
The clunk still happens on light acceleration /deceleration and certain light yaw motions, seems to increase with freeway speeds too....
Jamming the glovebox lid closed with foam doesn't improve things....
I realise these things are notorious, but any ideas please??

You do know the glovebox lid flops down to reveal fuse box and air filter behind? You squeeze the arms to release them and glovebox swings down. Worth looking behind there and in air filter compartment.

It might be unrelated, but I had an annoying noise coming from somewhere around the glovebox. Something like a squeak/rattle. I wasn't sure whether it was in/outside of the car (other side of the firewall), but drove me nuts.
When it was serviced, the technician said it was the door & dash rubbing against each other. I hadn't tried driving with the door slight ajar to see if that was it.
The tech just wiped/cleaned/lubed this area (bit vague on what was done), but it has mostly gone away.
Maybe try that area, and get someone to open the door slightly to see if that fixes it??!! [bigwhistle]

Pulled the glovebox down, and air filter out. Thought I had it with the air duct behind the glovebox (similar sound), but alas.....
