Afternoon Chaps,
So, I have been being annoyed for sometime now over my leaky rear cargo door and the steady stream of dust pouring in over all our things. To the point of buying a heap of front-runner crates to keep everything in.
Anyway, on the last trip it was really stating to wear thin so I thought "I'll adjust it up..."
After trying many striker positions and a whole lot of door slamming i determine that the tailgate latch has 2 positions, first one is roughly closed, second position is properly latched against the door seal. Mine was making it into the second position but not retaining it and I could pull it past that position with my finger.
So; latch off, degrease, wash all the dust out, dry it and then absolutely flood it with silicon spray lubricant - same problem. It's cactus I figure, so I check out the price of a new one (genuine) and think gosh that's more than I expected.
Then with much fear and trepidation I proceeded to book it in with my local dealer (barbagello LR here in WA) in the faint hope of it being a warranty claim. This was to be my first time off to the dealer.....
Much to my surprise I get a call a couple of hours later confirming it was a faulty latch and that it had been replaced and adjusted. Bravo team barbagello LR, you have exceeded all my expectations!
Not that exciting I know, but this is my story...
