I find the navigation supplied by LR to be very frustrating, difficult to use and already outdated. (car is 1 year old). Is it possible to load up another brand of Navigation (ie Igo8) or simillar. If not how does one update the inbuilt navigation to include new roads that are being built in housing estates.

Map updates are available but its a dealer only upload i believe, a stand alone unit may be a cheaper option.
I use Igo on a 7" tablet which is easy to update.

Link to satnav update site. Obviously, you need a dvd drive.
Land Rover Australia - In-car GPS Upgrades for Australia and New Zealand - powered by Whereis® maps (https://landrover.navshop.com.au/shopdisplayproducts.asp'search=yes)
These are never up to date like google maps for instance.

When I was having my XXV serviced I asked the same question to the dealer and they directed me to a Land Rover satnav site where you have to by the disc from TomTom

That's interesting. I thought they were from Whereis so I had a look around on the site that I provided the link to and saw this.
About TomTom
Navshop.com.au is a website owned by TomTom ANZ Pty Ltd which is distributing digital mapping products for navigation systems in Australia. This website was previously known as Whereismaps.com.
If you click on the "click to see more' link under the DVD image it mentions TomTom.
I wonder if you can buy the disk direct from TomTo? Might be cheaper.:Rolling:
Must check that out. [smilebigeye]

Thanks for all the information. My real concern is I just dont like the navigation that came with the car at all. In my previous car, I could access the Head unit and change to different software. It not only that the Nav is not upto date, (What nav system ever is??) but in reality I dislike how and what it displays, and how it is accessed. Hence I want to install Igo. I like to see where the red light cameras are, I like to see what my next 2 turns or lane changes are not just the next one. I know I could put a small gps tablet on the dash, but really a car that is $100K and you cannot get change or load up decent navigation?
