Just wondering how many here participate in the Landrover Wave?

I seem to get waves from about 70% of 'traditional' vehicles.
ie. Series, 110, Defenders etc.

Have never had a wave from a RaRo or Disco.

Would not expect one from a Freeloader.

I get about 50/50 with defenders, and about 80% of waves from series vehicles.

was driving up the gateway the other week and two guys in a red 130 passed me and they were half out of the window giving a good wave, 50% of defenders seem to give a wave back, flashed my lights and waved at a defender yesterday and he looked over his shoulder to see who i was waving at behind him, never mind.

I wave from both my Fender and Rangie.

Get waved back to (from the Defender) by Defenders and series vehicles. the occasional Disco, and only 1 RR (but that was Drivesafe :!: https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ ).

Can't remember ever having been waved back at when I was driving the Rangie. I did have a rock thrown at me once, but what would you expect from Commodore drivers.

I had a honk and wave from a blue extreme on sunday in the disco, but he was trailing me and probably saw all the dirt, mud and GCLRO stickers so knew it was a real Disco https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

I have the opposite problem.

I wave at every Landy I see (and all cars when travelling between towns), I get 100%D3 waves, 10%otherDisco, 1%Fender and 0%RR.

I sometimes wave, just from habit, when driving the Sandbag's Skyline.

It can be embarressing

I wave at series and fenders if I see them. Rangie's don't even what to see me and neither do disco's.

Well I give up, or do I.

Drove back from NW - NSW in the D3 on Sunday morning and only passed about 5 or 6 LRs and after 550 kms, only got ONE wave and that was in my own street.

Been driving the RR for the last couple of days and not a wave. Mind you, I got some strange looks.

I suppose it’s worth the wave just to get the weird looks.

Cheers.

Well when I wave at defenders they nearly run off the road in shock - the body language of the driver normally reads confusion - why did that person in that funny little car wave at me? :?

Having recently sold my disco, I am begining to feel we are looked down upon https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ even by our own people

Freelanders are Landrovers too https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Sorry you aren't OUR people.

No, they're not. We deny everything.

 Just kidding.
I was actually quite impressed with Scott's Freeloader, when he had it.
Course now he drives a Jap car...... https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

I wave at anything with a Land Rover badge. I normally get waves back from defenders and some discos, but never a rangie or a freelander. Matt

Ahhh the old whose waving and who theme again  . Ever since reading the first of these types of threads, I have become and avid waver on some occasions, in case not sure a 1 or 2 finger raise. From another thread it may seem that myself and i think drivesafe from memory, may have passed each other and given a wave, other than that I get the who the heck are you kind of look. I am hoping that when I go to the first GCLRO meeting tomorrow night that as I pull into the car park and there are some of the other members there, I just may, finally get a few waves back https://www.aulro.com/afvb/.

G'day all

I was suprised the other day, I was returning from Gosford to Newcastle and overtook a V8 Disco towing a large enclosed trailer(dual axle I think) and the driver waved and flashed his lights as I passed with my camper in tow covered in dust and mud......Good to see. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

well i wave at all Landies, and am constantly rejected by all...

i've only ever gotten a wave from a series 3 driver and a defender driver.
most of the days i'm going to work i drive basically along side a defender driver (a green extreme with 35s and lots of other goodies) for half of the way to work, and i've never got a single wave from him...

but that doesn't stop me!!!

cheers,
bryce

I know where you are coming from, I occasionally forget when I am driving the work Navara and wave at the odd defender - causes some strange looks.

Yeah, it's legal, there's a Land Rover clause.

Must be a looong time since you read the rules of the road book.
