Hello fellow Series people,

If you follow the Aulro facebook page you may have seen the post with my new hand winch.
I was thinking of ways of stowing it, along with the recovery gear, to keep the rear empty for camping gear and other stuff. I thought since PTO & electric winches are mount on the front dumb irons, why not a lock box for all my gear? A quick google search doesn't show much, just winches.
I wouldn't want anything too high, so as not to block air flow to the radiator.

Has anyone does this, could ya post some photos? I've not fitted a winch before so how is it done, I know the apron has to come off, but that's about it. Thanks!

Many of the Army SIIa Workshop variants had a toolbox where you mention.

This is Dinty's workshop

Thanks. That appears like it may be mounted from underneath the the chassis, as it's sitting lower than the top of the bumper.
Is it unheard of to weld brackets under the dumb irons?

Not all that clear if you don't know what you're looking at. You will notice that the front actually protrudes about 1 1/2" over the back edge of the bumper.

Ah ok, so the tool box is stepped in a bit towards the bottom and rests on the back of the bumper? How does the rest of it fasten/secure?
