View Full Version : 2006 SYDNEY LAND ROVER CLUB EXPO
barney
1st February 2006, 08:53 PM
the date is set and the preparations are under way.
SUNDAY 23rd of JULY, 2006.
SAME PRICE $5, SAME PLACE- museum of fire, penrith , SAME TIME- from 8 am.
to aid in traffic control andsafety, there will be a 'no vehicle movement" window between 11am and 2 pm. that is no ve hicles will be let in or out between those hours. this will also help with judging, publicity photos and give everyone a chance to lift more bonnets.
if any AULRO guys are coming, could you pm me with your intentions, if we know a rough number, then we can set aside enough room for you, otherwise you will be put in general population as you arrive.
this year there will be more and better technical demos plus we are planning an articulation ramp, only 10 vehicles will be allocated to this. they will span the whole history and product range of land rover as best as we can, and will be club members' vehicles.
we have done it this way so it is entertaining for the crowd as well as the participants, for traffic management and pedestrian safety.
there will also be up to 25 trade stalls and a swap meet.
hope to see you all there.

With the current costs on my rig making maree look doubtfull
I guess this is the next best thing so expect me there again.
It will also be nice to be amongst other landy people. One of the local garages I saw today when I asked about some work I need done can do it but he also said he would be happy not to see another TD5 in his shop. He's just finnished replacing an engine in a red 110 thats been lurking around recently.

I would be going elsewhere. Canberra Motor works are the Landy Specialists in your area, they serviced my disco for the people i bought it off. Matt

I have decided to do the studs myself first. If I can't get them out then just bolt it all back together and drive into Canberra and have it done.

If you use ezy-outs just be careful, if they break off there is no getting them out, take it from someone who found out the hard way. Matt

Matt,
can you take charge of the aulro side of things for us and get some numbers.
if we know how many are coming from aulro about a month before, we can allocate room for them. any extra to that can be shoved in with the general group.
don't forget the "no movement" window between 11 and 2. anyone turning up during this time will be ushered to the general parking area outside the site.

garth,
because we had so much trouble fitting in everyone last year, we are segregating anyone who is gonna take up more than one car space.
last year a clown from another club came along with a massive trailer filled with crap and blocked a whole access lane.
there will be a "swap meet" area for anyone with trailers or piles of stuff. if you can fit it in front of your car like you did the other year, without blocking traffic, you should be right.

JD its just of the highway Great western I think the one leading up into the blue mountains.

17th July 2006, 08:33 PM
"just" about 5 kays from the M4 on mulgoa rd (last turn off before the mountains).
head north (towards the sun) on mulgoa rd, past panthers, past sinclair ford, past a big intersection that ducks under the railway, then within 50m, you'll see a fire engine on a -pole on your right at a set of lights. turn right here, pay your money and follow the directions of the officials and you wont get hurt!:nazilock:

Thanks Barney - this is what I was looking for - I have a street directory that shows where the fire museum is, what it does not show is where the entrance is, so your directions are just what was ordered!
