I am currently in NW WA after a trip through the centre & NT. I will be in Perth in a few weeks time and would like to get my D4 serviced before the return trip across the Nullarbor. Can anyone recommend where the best place around Perth to get this done?

Apart from a broken back windscreen on the Oodnadatta Track and a tyre blowout near tunnel Creek, the D4 has performed really well whilst towing an 18ft van. Plenty of off-road and beach driving involved along the way.

Cheers
Chris

For a dealer we have found Southern Land Rover excellent. They are sponsors of the Team W4 Land Rover Club and have really looked after me and my D3

I use (and can recommend) Jordan Rovertech - great service from Kevin and the team, and they do know our cars!

Also, if you want to get it done before you get to Perth, can also recommend Wyatt's in Geraldton (depending on which way you are travelling down) - have been really impressed with them too!

Thanks.

Chris I've used Wilf Chambers Jaguar Land Rover in Osborne Park for years, with my Sport, Vogue and now Disco 4. Very thorough, and less than half the price of the main dealer. (Wilf used to run the main dealer's service department.)

All the recommendations are reputable Land Rover independents in Perth.

I would echo Greg's recommendation. I also am a client of Wilf's, for over 10 years and during that time he's serviced my old soft dash classic and currently the D2a and V12 Jaguar.

In June I did a 3 week, 7000km loop through central Australia in the D2a with no mechanical issues what so ever. Wilf did the annual service and reported nothing amis.

Which reminds me I need to write that trip up :)

Cheers

Personally I'll never ever take another vehicle to Chambers. I had a 300 Tdi Defender which needed a new crankshaft pulley and he was recommended. Had a chat to him and he ordered the part from Sidney and when fixed gave me a call, down I went and paid up quite happy with the cost. Got home and decided to check under bonnet..... and found big chisel cuts in the nut holding the fan on!!
The cuts showed that they had tried to undo the fan nut as a right handed thread when it is left handed.
I was furious and went down there and he said to me after I remonstrated with him "Some of those nuts are tight". Yes they certainly are when you're trying to undo them in the wrong direction.
Anyway he got a new viscous coupling and I fitted it as I told him I wouldn't ever let him anywhere near my vehicle again. I gave him the damaged part and he threw it on the rubbish heap and walked off without a word. After all what could he say?
I've got some nice pics somewhere on my computer of what he did.

Thanks for all the service recommendations.

I decided to give Wyatt's in Geraldton a go as it seemed more convenient than trying to deal with my caravan in Perth while the Discovery was being serviced.

I was really impressed with them. Shane was extremely helpful and fitted my service in ahead of time to suit my timeframe. I would definitely recommend them to any other interstate Landrover owners looking to get some servicing or work done.

A big 'Thumbs up'

Cheers

Not sure about the service in Darwin, but you'll LOVE the East Arnhem region! One of the most beautiful, untouched and enjoyable regions in Australia! You'll find PLENTY of great places to test out the D4's capabilities, particularly on sand...

I'm (slightly) jealous, after spending 12 great years up there!
