Why would you take a van onto a beach?
I'm surprised the Disco didn't bury itself.

Why would you take a van onto a beach?
So you can look like a tool in front of your mates when a Land Rover, a D1 no less, tows you and your 70 series out on Fakebook. Why else?

Why would you take a van onto a beach?
Seen quite a few people towing vans onto Fraser.. NEVER one that big though !
Some people just shouldn't leave the house....

I must admit, I did expect that to happen.

Read the facebook comments. Apparently the Landcruiser somehow rescued the Landrover, the Landrover should be better because its modified; the Landrover would have the same difficulty towing a caravan; the dribble is unbelievable.

For sure the D1 should be better due to the balloon tyres, and what appear to be F&R lockers, but it must have escaped your view that the D1 seemed to pull both the cruiser AND caravan out, so while it may have not been easy to pull the van through the sand, I doubt it would have got stuck like the cruiser seemed to have.

Have a look at I got bogged at inskip Facebook page, D3 and D4 and RRS up pretty regularly.
Sure the drive of the D1 is well set up and experienced but just owning a Land Rover doesn't make the rest of the owners immune from the same situation.....
So long as the driver of the stuck car learnt from the experience than all good.

From the looks of the various bogged Land Rovers on the Inskip Point Faceplant site, most would do well to simply air their tyres down and turn off DSC. Makes you wonder how many have actually taken their vehicles offroad or even know that you need to drive them differently to an old style 4x4 to get the most out of them. Me thinks a driving course is in order, or at least RTFM. Maybe put a sign when you get off the ferry - "Late model Land Rovers, don't forget to turn off DSC"......:wasntme:

Pretty easy not to look stupid or draw attention if you know what you're doing. I've accompanied my brother with his 'cruiser and van to Fraser several times without a hitch. (Pun [wink11])
We both recognize that I am backup, for peace of mind.
Camp at Cathedrals or D'barra normally.
