Have you got the base model stereo or the hi-line model . Base model has the 1-6 buttons under the screen for pre set stations . Have you tried to push the FM or AM buttons and just make sure 1 is not stuck .i think there is like FM -1 and also FM -2 and you may not have stations programmed on the other option - if that makes any sense.

Base model, yeah i tried changing band and to CD etc but no change. Might have to check the antenna connection where ever it is in the rear.

Does the CD work? If not I presume it would indicate that it's not an aerial problem.

I dont have any cd's in the car to check, my old car had a mechless unit so i just used files on SD or USB.
Strange that all the stations i saved in the preset's are still there because it sounds like it's not tuned in.

Try and remove the fuse and reset the unit ( not sure if a hard reset does the same ) and start again .
nit that hard to get to the back of the unit but a reset of sorts would be easier for a start.

Looking on Disco3 forum its possible that the antenna connection to the window has been dislodged, i had 2 10yo kids in the back so its quite possible and my old tyres after i had the new ones fitted.

I was going to say... give it 24 hours and it might come good.. . Annoying suggestion I know but my audio needs a rest too after some maxed out Angels tracks. Seriously... 24 hours of powered down rest seems to work sometimes...

I have had a couple of similar occurrences in the 7 years I have had my RRS. As I understand it, if the battery starts getting a bit low the car goes into a power saving mode that generally the driver is not aware of. The obvious thing is though, the radio - the first stage the volume is restricted and a message comes up on the radio screen something like "Low Power Mode" after driving for a while it goes away and full volume is available - I guess the battery is charged back up and the car goes out of low power mode. I have had this Low Power Mode a few times with my old battery but not in the past 12 months with a newbattery.
Twice I had something resembling what you had - radio seems to be on - but no volume or display. Driving around does not seem to fix it initially but some time later the radio is back all ok - I understand this is a lower level of power saving mode. Again I have not had this with my new battery.
I have looked in the handbook for this "Low Power Mode" on the radio and not found anything. I gleaned the above information from discussion on the UK D3 site a couple of years back so cannot confirm how valid it is.
