Hi Guys,

Does anybody know of a website where you can upload a pic of your car and then overlay Rims for the New D5.
Similar to this website. http://wheels.jaxtyres.com.au/land_rover/2017/discovery/discovery_series_4_30_sdv6_graphite_wagon_my16

Sadly no D5 yet on Jax. Great Site.

Choosing Rims is expensive so I only want to do this once. Pics looks great until they are on the car then its oh crap that doesn't go...

I don't know of anyone that has the D5 yet Lee for that kind of application, but if you like, depending on what sort of thing your after, and if they actually fit, which I think they might, your more than welcome to try on mine to see how they look.

Thanks Marcus. I have been to a few places and it looks like I might just have to wait it out. Really keen to get a set of BF Goodrich Ko2's. Hearing really good things about this tyre. Sadly my rig is running 22" so I need a 20" Rim to get a bit of sidewall happening.

Thank Nick,

That helped me plan Sat. Going to pop into The Wheel Deal In Boronia and Bayswater is not far from there. So perfect.

Have you thought about going back to the dealer to swap the 22's for 20's?

You might find they will & give you a credit.

Hi Chuck,

No I haven't. But I will ask the question. Thanks for the tip.

I am thinking the 20" Black ish looking ones with the bead pattern. Yep pretty vague but as i found out way too many options. Currently Wrapping Car and just bought car for daughter so Rims/Tyres will have wait in line.

Looked at the D5 today, noted that 19" wheels are an option fitted with 255/60/19 Pirellis, this compares with 255/55/20 on the 20"rims. Also noted that standard tyre outside diameter has gone UP (to 31") from that fitted to previous disco's, this now matches RR Vogue sizes. Main problem is the lack of choice of tyre, only Pirellis in OZ at the moment. Tire rack US have 26 different tyres of this size in their range !! sadly not much in the way of AT tyres. Hopefully now the tyre importers/manufacturers will come up with some more options here for those wanting the maximum available rubber between the rim and the road.

I hope so too, though with only the base model D5 and maybe a few G wagons running these tyres ex factory, I'm not holding my breath for a large selection any time soon. Much less in AT :-(

Pity, because 255/60 would look pretty sweet on the D4 I reckon...

I could be wrong but I got the impression that the 19's were a no cost option on most Disco models, they certainly were on all TDV6 model RR's when I bought mine in 2015.
I emailed General Grabber with the suggestion they look at 255/60/19's and got a reasonable response. Maybe if a few more talked to the tyre companies, might encourage them ??

Hey Lee

Off the shelf rims don't fit the D4 due the larger brake size and possible offset differences. Most D4 owners fit UK made Compomotive 18 inch rims which are designed especially for the D4 and available through GOE in Perth Green Oval Experience info, tyres, off road training (http://www.greenovalexperience.com/18-inch-rims)

Check them out to see when they might have 18 inch rims for your D5

Hi All
Due to take delivery of Disco 5 with 20inch rims and want to go to 18inch rims. Can anyone confirm if Disco 4, 18 inch rims will fit. If 18 inch rims won't fit, what is a good all round tyre for the 20 inch rim possibly adding some side wall height.

Cheers

People have been fitting 275/55R20. Have a look at the several different brand options.

Land Rover 18” rims won’t fit the front brakes which seem to be identical or close to identical to the D4 3.0L brakes. But the 18” wheels that do fit the D4 will also fit the new Discovery; Compomotive PD1881 and the new steel wheel “Tuffant” There’s many posts on both these wheels in the forum. Have a look in the vendor section of the forum called The Verandah for details of the Tuffant.

Picked up,a set of Range Rover 20” wheels. Came with sensors and 285/50/20 Cooper Zeon LTZ tires. Come in about 1/2” taller than the 22s the truck came with. May have a buyer for those too (I hope).

So far no rubbing. Car looks a bit slammed at access height. Especially happy I spent Saturday plastidipping them black.

The Pirelli All Terrain Plus (ATR replacement) is to be produced in 255/60R19 XL 113V. No availability info yet but at least it has a Pirelli stock number. I want to try this tyre on my L322.
