View Full Version : I Got Ants in My Radio

The radio is a standard RRS 6 stacker - I have a bleed in the LCDs and it is slowly getting worse. Any ideas on how to fix or even locate a new LCD screen.

There are places in the UK that fix radio pixels in Range Rovers etc but the RRS and D3 radios are not on the list of items they do.
Any suggestions other than a new radio which given the radio itself is fine is not really an option.
Thanks

Maybe tune it to 101.5 so they aren't so bored.... [bigwhistle]
But in all seriousness that bleeding in the LCD is different to the early RR problem which was that the pixels faded due to a bad connection along the ribbon cable that connects to the LCD - it didn't add pixels like that, just made the ones that were supposed to be on unreadable.
So not sure what's going on there, but as you said, I think your up for a new screen - if you can find one.

Hi Garry,
Wandering through the huge Landrover graveyard at Triumph Rover in Adelaide this week I am pretty sure I saw one in a good RRS. Give Phil a ring

Bumping this old thread of mine - I still got ants - looked at various options which came to nothing or were just too expensive.
Three years later here is where the ants have moved too - I am surprised pixel bleed can move around so much - the pixels still work fine.

So once again any suggestions? Will pulling the protective glass over off the screen work or just stuff everything up.
Thanks
Garry
