Hello's,

So yesterday driving home I make a turn, turn off to the indicator and... it kept flashing - quickly worked out that is was the hazards flashing... but they were not turned on.
Get home - turn off car, still flashing... unplug indicator stalk and switchs from the steering wheel area - still flashing... WTF.

Trace it this box (Pictured below) I unplug it - flashing stops - I quickly work out this "box" to be the factory alarm and central locking unit.
So unplugged hazards no longer flash - indicators work, but can't turn over motor.

Trying to find one is hens teeth and over 600 bucks - nope - would rather by pass but in trying to find out how - I have been reading that it might be a neutral safety switch?? Haaalp please? :)

quick update - I went to follow the resync of the fob for the alarm - got as far as turning on the key, turning it off with my partner holding down the hood switch.. and the hazards stopped flashing.
Was able to use both indicators no problems and fire up the car. tested the fob working... and its all fine... WTF? :)

Any ideas?

Would like to know how to by pass this for the future anyway? seems like the last thing that could cause this beast to stop going anywhere and I dont like that ;)

When my mate's alarm box failed I just bridged the two wires that disconnect the starter motor. I just tested each terminal with a meter until I found the one that changed state when the key was turned to "start" and then looked for the wire that made the starter go. Can't remember the colours but it wasn't very hard to do. I left the alarm box plugged in and removed the two relays that cause the hazards and horn to come on. The box also controls the central locking from memory.

anyways - thanks heaps for that info - I have a meter and test light to figure it out. Goes along with a day I have to set aside to try a few things with the havac fan :)
