Photo Comp #36- 'Water Crossings'- Ends September-
Welcome back to the camera corner competition.

Anyone can join in this competition and although labeled a competition there is no prize to be won! The idea being that everyone and anyone can join in you dont have to be a proffesional or have fancy equipment....you just need a digital camera, a keen eye, be able to interprate the set topic, imagination and enthusiasm to get out and use your camera.

The Competition is fortnightly and will go from Sun to Sun......the first week is dedicated to uploading your photo. each person entering may only upload 1 photo if anymore than 1 has been entered your first will be taken and your others will be deleted so think carefully about the one you want to submit.
When the first week is over the thread will be locked and a new thread started where you can place your vote by posting the name of the member of which the picture you like the most. The voting will be open until Thursday evening and then the winner will be announced. the winner then has Fri to Sun to come up with the new topic and any rules for the next competition. The idea being that we don't do subjects such as weddings or sport but topics, statements or descriptions that sort of thing....the sort of thing that can be left open to interpretation and imagination.
(Dullbird, 30.11.2008)

So this comp starts tonight

The statement for this competition is:

My post was to highlight the fact that we should participate with pictures showing photography skills. Check the old Photo comps it was difficult to select the winning pictures because most were beautifully taken.

Umm, I might have to bow out of voting......I wouldn't know if a photo was taken with skill or had post photo touch ups......I was voting for what appealed to me after a quick scroll.

My wife is an artist and she accepts my feed back knowing I have no idea of what went into creating the piece.

Good luck with the thread...hopefully more skilled photographers and voters will come along.....I'll still view the thread but won't post or vote based on my low skill base.

I'm not sure this thread is about technicalities in taking a pic 🤳 [wink11]

Im guessing you either like it or don't, soooo pick the one you like [biggrin]

I'm sure young Mr Sprover will be along directly to confirm either way soon.

I am no skilled photographer either, it's all about what pic you like best - anyone can have a go - jump in and vote for the one that floats your boat. :)

No need to bow out of voting or participating, this is just a fun thing to do. My previous thread was to encourage participants to work on taking and participating with beautiful photos.

Voting for what appealed to you is the way to go.

P.S. I am not a pro photographer, to the best a level one amateur.

It definitely did!.. That's why I voted for it...

To me a great image is one that makes the viewer feel something...... not whether it follows the right photographic "rules" or techniques..

Those things often help - but whether it's taken on a phone, a cheap point and shoot or a mega bucks pro set up - They are all fair game here and in my opinion should be judged on the simple question.. " which one of these do I like the most?" .

X2.

I, like a lot of others would not have a clue what is "professionally" a good pic. I voted on the one that generated emotion.

Sorry for being late, I have been away for a few days.
The Winner is "2.Xtreme-over bonnet"
Xtreme if you could get a new comp open by the end of tomorrow that would be great and still enough time for people to get photos up.
