I was in a car park in Oakleigh on Friday, it is very narrow and you need to be patient. I am convinced my zambezi silver 3 tonne Range Rover is invisible,at the end of this vid I had to be patient and let a Land Cruiser time to get out of his parking spot, but what happened next is just unfathomable, the bozo in the Blue Falcon apart from his arrogance and impatience, he insisted he could squeeze past my stationary Rangie, I was even trying to reverse so he wouldn't hit me, but he would not wait ,some how he didn't hit me.

You're too nice Mario - I wouldn't have budged an inch...
Dip****s everywhere, that's why I've installed a camera in my work car recently as the standard of driving seems to be plummeting now.

I could see him damaging my vehicle, I just don't know how he didn't , the last second of vid sees the back of his car doing a little kangeroo hop so he mounted something.

Oh .. I see the problem... Your rangey is WAY to nice. My battered POS .... everyone tends to avoid. It's obvious looking at the mud splatted sides that feature heaps of offroad pinstriping .... and big heavy (scratched) ARB front and rear bars... That I'm someone that isn't going to get overly concerned ( or move ) if they are stupid .... Now if he wound down the window and said "sorry mate ... that was pretty dumb of me" ... I'd give him a cheery wave and reverse up so he can get out. So much can be defused these days with an "oh ****, sorry" ... and a wave...
I''m sure I've done dumb things like that in the past too... when I was young and stupid :)

Yep, I agree, I seem to be given more of a wide berth in my disco - it's old, mucky, lifted, got an ARB bar on the front and people seem to assume I don't care about it, so aren't keen on games of chicken.
My Defender on the other hand - silver, usually clean when in Melbourne, has one of Murray's nice bars on the front with DRLs, so it's not like it's invisible, is fair game for cutting up, pulling out on/in front of and generally seems to attract **** poor drivers.
I wonder if it's a perceived insurance thing?
The Defender is new-ish and so must be insured, so is fair game to act like a dick in front of in the knowledge that you could argue blame and might get some insurance pay out should the worst happen.
But the disco is old and so might not be, so it's not worth taking the risk tangling with??

All things aside, I am honestly starting to believe Zambesi silver is a hard colour to see for people, it's not the first time I have nearly been run in to at close range.
Maybe Zambesi Silver could be of benefit to the ADF, the troups can paint all their artillery in it instead of drab and sneak up to the enemy unseen.
I just don't know anymore seriously.

Silver is a low visibility colour. You could repaint it fluro yellow.

I don't see the problem. This is standard driver behaviour in WA. Sheer ignorance, incompetence and stupidity but normally road design gets the blame.

That is an act of stunning stupidity.... brilliantly filmed by the car as well - framed perfectly. [biggrin]

No Mario, I don't think it's the Zambezi colour. I have a white 110 wagon and a greeny-blue disco, both of which have a pretty big presence on the road, but they still get ignored by numpties. I'm convinced they look to make sure that I'm really coming straight at them and then pull out in front of me anyway.

My sister use to drive an old beat up car - had a dent in every panel (not by her doing - she bought it that way) people would go out of her way to avoid her.
Now my Disco must be magnetic as it seems to attract people to try and run into it every time I go to Melbourne! Lucky for me I do not go there very often anymore.

A water bag hanging of the home made bull bar & lots of dirt, mud & grunge hanging off your car seems to help keep the clowns away.
Many years ago drove our old 720 Datsun duel cab to Brisbane dressed as above with the addition on chook wire light protectors, nobody came near me.
Was amused by the look the car parking fellow at the Sheraton gave me when I threw him the keys.

PS A big hat helps also.

Kangaroos behave like that dont they - they seem to have a reverse survival instinct.
This might be the start of the end of the human race.

I do enjoy having a beer listening to some fine music and watching supposedly sane and licensed drivers attempt to smash into each other and unsuspecting pedestrians , on the T intersection opposite my humble little abode. Always good for a bit of light entertainment on a Friday as the light slowly fades.

An example from this morning of another of Melbourne's finest drivers doing exactly as I describe above!
There was barely a car length between me and the Falcon in front, yet this bozo cut in from the LH lane and wanted to occupy it.
(I would have posted the vid from my dash cam but it contains copious amounts of profanity, so thought I'd better not [bigrolf]:bat::no2:)

Happens there all the time - they turn off City road into Power Street from the left lane then blat up the left hand lane through Kavanagh until they realise they want to be turning onto the Westgate. Same thing happened to me there last Wednesday...
My dash cam is full of gold that I've saved - I should download it... :)

You could keep dash cams Australia filled for a week or so 😄
Yep that is exactly the route I take every morning! You're right there's usually at least one person trying it. First time I've remembered to keep the vid though!
