I have been getting a windows message to install updates. I have ignored it for a couple of weeks but when it popped back up last night, I thought OK. It stated that it may take sometime so I set it going and left it. When it eventually finished I could not access my email.

In trying to open the program it showed "wlmail.exe- system error" and stated that MSVCR100.dll was not found and that reinstalling the program may fix the issue.

Can anyone shed any light on this computer speak [bigsad]

it is no longer supported by microsoft

Applies toWindows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10

https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/18614

you can download the live essentials installer from 3rd party sites and try reinstalling but updates will kill it again in due course

if using Windows 10 use the inbuilt Mail program

or install thunderbird

or use web mail

or buy something decent like TheBat

hope it helps

Not the answer I was hoping for but it is what it is. So my next question, Is there anyway to recover/import/save the contacts I had in Win Live Mail and get them into the "inbuilt Mail program" ???
