We need a trip for the 70th anniversary. A Question? Should we only have Defenders there as it will be a 70th anniversary of Land Rover? Hmm will we let the others in? THOUGHTS everyone

As per the other thread i just replied to:

The Brisbane club sent out emails to the other clubs around Queensland a few months ago about holding an event on the long weekend in October next year similar to what was done for the 50th. October was picked so as to not get in the way of what is happening in easter and i don't think that there were any replies.

Happy to go back and try and see if we can get this started again.

Defender Day is just that Defenders with a few series thrown in.

Whilst I don't own the rights to the day I was loosely planning to organize one every two years.

I have no problem with somebody/anybody organizing a all Land Rover inclusive event.

Maybe decision about a Land Rover event in SEQ be starred in the 70th sub forum.

I enjoyed the last Defenders Day and would like to attend another one here in SEQ. Can't make the one down in NSW as we plan on a trip to the VHC around that time

With all due respect to everyone concerned, it was Weeds who came up with the idea, and has done a fantastic job of organising the previous events. That and having only Defenders and a few Series vehicles should stay the same IMHO.

Huh??? I'm not stopping you organizing a Land Rover gig or a defender Day with other land rovers. You did ask for our thoughts....

I've had some progress on my 110. I might be able to go to the next one.

There was an email sent out by the Brisbane Club President back at the end of April to all of the Queensland Land Rover club Presidents, and I don't think he got any replies. The date we were proposing was the October long weekend next year with a venue to be determined.

We now have a new club president so I will bring it up with him when he gets back to Brisbane.

I will post a follow up in the 70th anniversary area when I have one.
