V6 Petrol and EGR!

There is much talk about cleaning and/or blanking EGR's on the diesels, but I have never seen anything on the petrol engines.
I've just found a line in my V6 petrol service history that has me wondering!!!!
Should I/Can I do anything to the EGR on my petrol V6 engine?????
