Hi gents,

So a few months ago i upgraded to hd genuine LR front springs and bilstein b6 shocks. Brought the car back up nicely and the shocks are excellent.
Anyway ive noticed a vibration that happens only between 60-65kph. If i accelerate hard at 60 it vibrates noticibally, not so bad that the whole car vibrates but definitely noticable. When i back off at 65kpm in gear down to 60kpm there is a slight almost harmonic vibration as well.
Now if i just coast and increase or decrease my speed but have the gearbox in neutral it doesnt happen.
My head says it the front prop. Now ive changed all unis and its helped a tiny bit but its still there and extremely annoying.
Thoughts? Drive shaft angle as a result of the HD spring's??

Need a double cardan front shaft.

Puma defender?

Thanks for the reply JC. Yes mate its a puma. I cant believe hd suspension requires a dc shaft!!

I know people on this site really recomend tom woods but i was thinking gywn lewis. Looks really well desinged and thought out. Any thoughts?

Can also highly recommend the TW shaft, and Tom is great to deal with.
I've sourced two from him for Deefers and will eventually get another for a D2.

What happens if i install a new dc shaft and the vibration gets worse? What could it be?
In the op i said it vibrates when i back of at 60kph in gear but having driven around testing it out thoroughly on smooth road id say that it doesnt do it coasting at 60kmph in gear and only at that speed under load.
Could it be the transfer or gearbox?

Mine had a similar vibration because the front is around 2" or so higher than stock, thanks to longer softer springs. I'd get a vibration accelerating through 60kph and again through 80kph.

TW DC prop fixed it and wish I'd bought one sooner.

To confirm just remove the front shaft and go for a drive. Your description 100% fits the classic defender propshaft vibe issue however.

Ok update;
Took the car to Graeme Cooper automotive and showed it tp Ward. At the same time i met forum memeber Marty90 which was cool and it was a pleasure to meet and talk to you mate.
Anyway Graeme put it on the hoist and pretty much solved the problem straight away. My radius arm bushed were shot and the axle was rotating almost an inch. My steering rod was also bent from my last trip aswell.
The bushes were causing the vibration as not even the dc could handle the excessive angle. I ended up buying a gwyn lewis dc shaft, even Ward was impressed with it.
I have to praise Ward and Graeme Cooper once again for their professionalism and excellent service. These guys are amazing and im so lucky to have them close by. Gave Ward a case of Coopers pale ale, thats how happpy i was. Top blokes.
Ps ended up putting in a HD steering rod also

😅😅 well that'll do it too!!! I've had a rrc in once where the vehicle would feel like it was going to roll up over the front diff when you put the brakes on!!!😅

Nice result and good job Graeme Coopers😎
