I had wheel alignment on 2011 RR Sports done last week two days later warning messages on dash appear emergency brake assist not available, stability control not available drive with care, HDC not available system fault. Took to dealer today advised that internal fault with steering angle sensor which is intergrated with steering rack. Recommendation replace steering rack S/F$7130.00 I was advised that Landrover do not supply this sensor which is responsible for the 3 error messages this is why they recommend who unit be replaced. I was advised that the sensor is internal and not affected by wheel alignment being done. Any advice please

We stock the sensor for up to 2009 RRS, but if you look on the web you probably can pick up the later one from the UK for around the $300 mark plus freight costs.
2010 on RRS steering angle sensor part number is LR011512.
After fitting you will need diagnostics like IIDtoolBT to program it in,
Hope this helps, Cheers, Mario

I posted the other day that I was advised by dealer that I needed new steering angle sensor which is intergrated inside the steering rack. 3 warning lights were displayed and this is why I took to dealer quoted $7000 + to S/F new rack. As I had wheel alignment done some two weeks earlier and steering wheel was off centre I found time to return to wheel alignment guy after returning from trip. I advised him of warning lights two days after wheel alignment and recommendation by dealer. I applied a bit of logic and suggested if steering wheel was off centre could this lead to activation of the sensor he wasn't sure but liked my thinking. I left the car with him and he recentred the wheel. Guess what no warning lights have come on. Saved myself $7000 not really as I would have sought another opinion.

Yeah, dealers have zero interest in helping, just emptying your wallet by swapping parts....
Sometimes just running the steering from lock to lock will clear these - the ECU can get confused about where the steering wheel is for a variety of reasons.
Good outcome for you though. :)
