Travelled 700km today in my MY10 3.0l and sprung a fuel leak from diesel rail. KMart auto had a quick look ok (it's almost 500pm) and suggest I speak to a specialist. I'm on my way to Fraser I think that's over now. Any suggestions for a specialist between here and the Gold Coast. With the long weekend / school holidays I don't think I will get this looked at before mid next week.
Disappointed! Only had cracked manifolds replaced a few months back....

With manifold replacement the high pressure lines to each rail from the fuel pump should be replaced not reused. This is how fires start. Sorry to hear it has ruined your trip😐 is it the drivers side one? That is the hardest one to get to...😣

It probsbly wasn't replaced because it IS the hardest one to access😢.
Have all the other connections and bleedoff lines been checked though?
The bleedoff connections are plastic and have minute orings... have to be very very careful

I'm from Sydney, but have been to Bruce Lynton landrover on gold coast a couple of times and found them helpful

No, they had a quick look for me but can't properly investigate until Late Wednesday - same story everywhere I've rung. Just too busy with long weekend and holiday travellers.

That's hard to read, definitely changes your holiday but doesn't have to ruin it. Ballina has some great places to explore, Lennox head, broken head caravan park and beach is great, Byron bay of course, Bangalow inland.. I could have an awesome time 'stuck' there.

Fishing is pretty dam good in that area as well...
Sorry to hear about the issue, holidays are pretty precious,so having them ruined is not nice.

can anyone recommend a LR mechanic up this way? I can get it towed with NRMA 50km. There's a diesel mechanic at Lismore, or I could look at dealer in Gold Coast? Anyone local have a recommendation?
