The BVVC has recently taken possession of their new club house within the "Bundaberg Recreational Precinct". The actual building is a Vietnam era ex-army building. The story has it that there were quite a few of these (still boxed up in crates) offered to not for profit organisations and the local club was successful with their bid.
The Canefields Classic is the club's first event based out of the new club rooms. In total there were nearly 45 cars presented on Saturday morning for the start of the show. Most were local cars with some from nearby Fraser Coast clubs and even a couple of P6s from the Brisvegas based Rover Club.
Saturday morning was mostly registrations, meet & greet and social stuff. I had a wander around and took some pics (with the Android).

A couple of Rovers although there were a couple of P6s from Brissy as well. The P3 looked a bit cleaner after I ran a chamois over it. [bigwhistle]

Sorry We didn't make it, had good intentions but life got in the way. Hopefully next time. Hope the rain didn't put a damper on things. We can't complain we need it.

Saturday and Sunday were great. It only started raining this morning. We went to visit a private collection on Saturday arvo. Some interesting stuff there. Here is one you might relate to [bigsmile1].

The story behind this one is that it is the 2nd of 2 prototype MGB utes. The "A" body had the rear section made mostly with wood and this one is all metal. Evidently the concept was squashed as it was thought the MGB ute would be competition for the existing 1800 ute which was being manufactured in the same factory.

Looks like I missed a good weekend & going by the news looks like it is a lot wet there now, hope your feet are not too wet. There was a MG Ute at ABD a couple of years ago, I will see if I can find the photo of it.

Hello from Brisbane.
As a former MGB owner (albeit a few decades ago) my first thought on seeing the photo of the ute was ..... why?
My later thoughts were still pretty much along the same lines.
Nice photos.
Cheers,
Neil
