Maybe, maybe not. The UK coastguard guys tried these out for a while on their tidal mud flats and they went great. The footprint of a caterpillar track on each corner had a lot to do with that. I reckon it would have similar abilities on other types of substrate. I would love to own one and try it. If I ever win lotto, one of these sets would be on my shopping list.....

The Australian Army trialled one of these way back then, it didn't proceed with buying any for one reason or another, but the trials Series 2A 109 GS survives today, it is owned by Uncle Ho in Qld, he is a forum user in here JFYI, cheers dennis

Awesome,, if he's got it running by the time I get up there, and if he's willing, [biggrin],, I'll be able to answer my own question as to how hard the steering is on them [wink11]

Chops, it was reduced back to a std Series 2A 109GS after the trails, we all would have liked to see one in the flesh, but sadly no time soon chers Dennis
hopefully an image/link of Kevin's L/R at the time

One of the 2 best Landy conversions ever! From memory there was a very basic power assisted steering set up with a pump running off the starter dog on the front of the crank.
Thanks for posting the link Lewy110
Rich.
