Just watched the light and sound show test from last night at the new Perth Stadium on the news , at long last Perth now has a world class stadium .
Briliant , a credit to the designers and Builders , cant wait to see it in action at the footy , should be good with the 240 Sq Mtr Screens for replay action . [bigsmile][bigsmile][bigsmile]

Maybe but should have never been built where it was. Total corruption at government level. All in benefit of Packer due to close proximity to the Casino and the dodgy deal done for one pub. About making a couple of wealthy people wealthier.
And still **** seating. They should have taken a page from the way the new Tottenham Spurs stadium has been built, do a fly through on that and you will see a world class stadium.
Again a missed opportunity to go for an 80,000 seat plus stadium.
Should have stayed in Subiaco, like the original plan was or at worst moved to East Perth near the WACCA.
For most very difficult to access and if you have to drive near impossible, with much less parking than Subi.
Not to mention the devastating effect it will have on Subi business.
We will also lose the stadium bar where you could go and have a real drink and meet the players after the game.
Not to mention crappy gauge roads beer, price of drinks and food going up to stupid prices.
They will still fill the stadium on occasion though no doubt.

Agree with the 80,000 seats , but i reckon the rest is the Ducks Nutts , Everthing will fall into place once people get used to the change i am sure !!! . Remember all the " sky was going to fall in " bull**** that went on with Hillarys Boat Harbour and Obsvercation City", and Perth Arena . :spudnikparty: She,l be right mate !.

Its an ok stadium, just disagree with where it was built. As said go to the Spurs web site and have a look at their ground, remembering it was funded by 1 club only. It is spectacular.
The Perth Arena while ugly as sin is ok on the inside, but again to few seats for big concerts and getting obsolete already.

I'm unlikely ever to frequent the place but think it should have been built down near Kwinana. Good access by road and rail and plenty of space for all the other stuff they'll need around it.
Just watch the chaos there'll be at the Main Roads designed "merging lane" for the fans all leaving at the same time and wanting to get on the freeway..... complete joke.
