Hey Kelvin,

I put Taklas in the back of the disco for the feral child and puppy 8O

so far survived straddie sand and squished poppers, saltwater wet togs etc ok

http://www.aulro.com/albums/red-disco/IMG_0886.sized.jpg

Cost was $285 inc shipping through Roof Raks Galore @ Kedron

They fit almost 100% perfect and I am thinking about putting a set on the front.

.

Black Duck - personal direct experience none, but two sets of mates use them and they like them. One mate has a Commodore Wagon and the fit on what must be their highest selling line is attrocious. Loose flappy and unpleasant in my humble opinion BUT he has no complaints and he lives with them so there you go.

Next mate has Black Duck in a Mercedes Vito Van and they look really good. Excellent fit. Told mate one "That's the type of seat covers you should have got" and he said "I did, it's the same company. " Bizarre. Probably ordered the wrong type or something

[boast] Alas, you can search high and you can search low but you'll never find canvas seat covers as good as mine. Bespoke for the individual measurements of each cushion in my Defender. They fit like a glove and follow the contours of the seat. Made by a mate who is too busy for such things nowdays. [boast]

People who are handy could make them. He took all the cushions out - which in a Defender is easy. Laid the seat on some butchers paper and drew around with an outline. Side on, drew round, front side, drew round and backside drew round. Cut the patterns and arranged them to see how much canvas he need. Bought the canvas and cut the patterns, Then he sewed them all up on his industrial sewing machine with good strong hems. He bought some clips and nylon webbing and used them for fasteners. Voila. Perfect tight fit. It really looked as easy as that and he raced through the job. But he is handy with that stuff and had the sewing machine.

Kelvin,

check the takla's through the place at Kedron as they were cheaper than the web site prices

also be aware that they have 2 different types of material, mine is the heavy w/p cotton canvas (cheaper) the other is a nylon type material which was dearer

I have Black Duck canvas car seats cover front and rear in my Discovery series II.Brought the front seats first, a bit stiff at first and tend to move around a bit but overall, great. Very happy with them.

Front seat ones were so good I thought I'd buy some for the back seat.
Big mistake. Poor design, ill fitting and the velcro tabs tend to pull off.
Hard to believe they are from the same company.

Hey Kelvin,

Looks like they have gone up in the last couple of months, RRC @ Kedron odered mine in and it took about a week, but they were cheaper than direct from the manufacturers price to which you had to add freight.

Have a look at the Michelles Sacs items, they have a sample at 4wd Warehouse Brendale and they're around the same price as the Tacklas

www.michellessacs.com.au (http://www.michellessacs.com.au)

They are under $300 (just) for a fender accorrding to their web site, the disco rears were much dearer why I went for the others, however may consider these for the front as I think they would be more comfortable.[/url]

I have Takla rears in the Defender, the higher spec material and only paid about $220 about 18 months ago, direct from their web site. Huge increase in pricing. Also try Michele's Sacs.
