Hi all, advice please,
the van has 3x120amp agm batteries connected in parallel. The van will be in storage for 7 months with no mains power.
Is it better to, fully charge the batteries and then isolate them completly and cover the van or leave them connected to the solar charger with the van exposed to the elements?
Cheers

Can you get a free standing solar array and run it into the van via your (assumed) Anderson plug?

That way it can be stored under cover AND remain charged...

(You’ll need to look after them or they’ll suffer)

I agree with Tombie,

I see lots of boat owners kill batteries over winter due to no charging (good for business).

Most battery companies recommend charging at least monthly when not used.

I use Tombie's idea, I have a 125w solar panel with controller on the back that sits outside the shed and the wire goes under the roller door to the Anderson plug on the draw bar.

Can you lend the batteries to someone or have someone look after them?
