Hi all
I see supercheap have a no name 12 volt 10,000 lb electric winch at 65% Off, $249 on special for members this week. Available online only.
Has anyone had experience with these? Are they any good, bearings waterproof, any info at all? Warranty? There is very little info on their website.

They have a pretty good warranty & have never hassled me over the (very few) returns I have made with other stuff. Presuming the quality is the same as a few years ago - they sell them every 12 months- you will have no problems.
I have one that I've never fitted yet, & a mate bought one a few years ago & has given it a real workout. They used to be $399.00
I did strip mine down & re greased it with a quality grease, but this may be overkill.
Hopefully others will reply, but being in Wanted section, maybe not...[bigsmile1]

The way I look at is that the winch is almost the last line of defense, especially in our case where we travel solo a lot. We go for tried and proven recovery gear The current winch on our Defender has been on 2 previous Defenders and a Series2 Disco. It gets serviced from time to time, and has never missed a beat.

Fitted a Supercheap winch to my D1 about 4 years back and have had no problems
Had a real workout recovering my son's dead Bundera up and over a 4 foot rock step and steep slope - this was about a half hours exercise and winch never missed a beat, only problem was keeping power up to it, ended up with an additional battery jump leaded to the Disco.

Thanks Disclombi
I have bought it and fitted it to my project 300 Tdi in the rain yesterday. Have yet to run the electrics.. need to get the second batter setup sorted.

Hi, Only thing that has failed was the radio remote operation - not really a big issue
In my case I installed the relay box in the engine bay and then with an appropriate plug (they were high end audio speaker plugs) wired it through to the cab so you can plug in the controller and use winch from drivers seat
Cheers
