View Full Version : ABS & Traction Control lights on

Mine is a 2007 Puma 110. The ABS and Traction Control dash lights came on and now stay on. No fault codes recorded according to scan gauge.

It happened after replacing brake pads. (I did notice that the front LHS caliper had much more wear on one side due to a sticking piston.)

When I tested and applied the brakes, a lot of ABS chatter straight up, then stopped and dash lights came on.

I've since had both front calipers overhauled, as enough rusting and pitting evident to justify new pistons.

All fuses are fine, but I have no idea about what if any relays might be involved, or what could be the cause. Any ideas from those with a better understanding than me?

Cheers

I agree- Check that those sensors are all seated all the way in.

Otherwise, check all the ABS wires for damage.

Surprised it did not show up on the scanner. I had both lights on forever and then it turned out to be a faulty wire for my back left sensor. Replaced the wire and the lights went away.

good luck!

It might be interesting to check codes with a Nanocom or Hawkeye not just a scan guage the reason I say this is with a Nanocom you need to use a different cable to access the ABS ECU
I would of thought something would show up

Hiyas

Been here done that! Was the big "system" fuse under driver's seat. The ones that are screwed in. Check that.

There are couple of ABS TC fuses std blade fuses. Check them.

Where I am that sort of "system" fuse is difficult to obtain. Had to order While I was waiting I adapted a standard blade holder for that spot. As I recall 25 amps. Worked a treat. New replacement fuse arrived and I did. Lasted a day or two and blew again. Put adapted blade holder and it's 25 amp fuse back in, still there............................and supposedly these are no longer "Prince of Darkness" systems [bigsad]. Go figure.

Hope this info gets you sorted.

Cheers

Sorry for delay in response. Thanks for those tips. I'll go through them all to make sure on the weekend.
