Who is the best and cheapest in SEQ to rebuild the auto box in my Disco?

Starting to slip on hills and when working hard

Or do I bite the bullit and upgrade to D2?

Did that two weeks ago, seems that I cooked the box a couple of years ago whilst in the Vic High country, had it serviced on return and than again 12 months later (that was two week ago). The oil was again burnt, but had been driving it on the beach.

The hot light came on mid Jan and box serviced and switch replaced. the box is slipping and it seems to be blowing oil out of the dipstick tube. This is new to me and my car. (oil leaks are to cease)

The main problem I am now faced with is do I sell and upgrade or fix and keep?

So the main point to this is to get rough ideas on cost and whom to go through. I don't need to have hassles of the daily driver off the road for an extended period of time

I'm sure you have already talked to him but didn't Jessie just get his rebuilt? Who did he use?
He seemed to research it pretty thoroughly before he did it.

Since you have been talking of upgrading lately anyway I think that is what you should do. Other wise you will pay for the rebuild today and sell it in the not to distant future anyway when you realise you really want the D2 I am sure.

Is it noticably slipping? As in would a potential buyer pick it up and either avoid it or want a big discount? As much as I would be ****ed off if someone sold it to me like that, maybe it is your best option. Either that or trade it.

Bugger of a time for it to do it though https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

hi discodan

is slipping like too much refs at commode speed on the highway as well? Climbing up to 4000 at 120km/h (don“t know in miles yet), which mine is doing? Not to talk about his behaviour at hills...

8) discodan, i see you're at daisy hill, so this may be a bit far for you to go, but i would take it to west burleigh automatics, he did mine , is a nice helpful chap and will show you what is wrong, ph 5535 4793.

Ring ZF Australasia,( the operator can find the number).

I think an exchange unit from them is about $2700. for the D2 auto... I spent some time talking to them while Landrover and the dealer tried to figure out whether they would replace my box under warranty.(like there should be any question when a car is still under warranty)

During my talks the guy quoted the price which I thought was reasonable for a currentish model 4WD

They are the OEM, and probably know what they are doing.

It sounds pretty bad https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ I doubt you'll be able to sell it like that... or if you do they will know the money off anyway https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
