Defender Puma TD4 2.4 Tdci Header Tank with sight glass + level sender - AlliSport (https://www.allisport.com/shop/performance-products/tanks-and-reservoirs/header-tanks/defender-puma-td4-2-4-tdci-header-tank-sight-gauge/)

IMO
-Would be a neat addition of coolant level to the tdci.
-Perhaps not in the same realm as a 300tdi with **** weak HG but I assume the tdci
Operates better with coolant on the inside rather than the outside???
-It is a little bit blingy but could be painted
-Small warning light +/ - buzzer in a blank switch location....
-Hmmm $400 ish landed - could represent good insurance

Is the header tank prone to popping on the Tdci Steve?

If so, good insurance, if you have the spare cash.

And the MLS head gasket is the fix on the 300Tdi. :D

Tank cap failures seem common
Tanks seem to hang together
The tdci however has 473 different hoses that carry coolant
Would have to be a relative risk of hose failure and I can only surmise
That an unchecked exsanguination of pinkness would be pretty terminal

An exsanguinTion of pinkness! Like it! lol. Tell tale pink around cap and flimsy mounting of plastic header tank are enough for me to consider something more robust. ...whether that comes before upgrading radiator, intercooler, 3 diff centres and remap turning off egr and a backup clutch for the tdci is another question! 😳🙃

SDon't you use external water cooling via the intake?[bighmmm]

Only over short distances Noel
In very specific geographical locations

But yes direct water injection does cool the charge air for improved performance
