Hi All
I'm looking at a Disco 3 for towing camper and getting out of the city (mainly into the hills) with the family.
Budget is limited - looking at 2005-2007 and have seen a few V8 or Diesel with around 200k on them. Service sounds like they've been regularly.
I'm leaning away from the 6 petrol - should I be?
It will be my daily drive also - about 30km round trip and likely to make road trips up to 500km on a 2-3 monthly cycle.
Is spending up to $20k on these worth it? I'd appreciate any thoughts.

A few members here have the V6 petrol and are quite happy with them especially the current prices of sub 20K, i picked up an 08 TDV6 for 21K but honestly think either will be a good buy. Compared to my old TDI it tows my camper trailer like its not even there, 110 up hills where 60 was a struggle .

I just picked up a 2005 D3 V8 HSE for 18.5K. Loving it so far. I just got the LCAs done and the transmission serviced and converted. If you don’t mind the fuel usage I’d recommend the V8 if you can find one.

Yep I'd be doing the same. The diesels are good too, . I had one of these for a short time (thanks to a roo) too.

Bargain for a diesel below, worth a look, dealer services is a big plus.

This one here with it's new ZF transmission is a major plus. The transmissions don't last forever, none do, some people extend mileage with fluid changes, but they still require a rebuild eventually at a $6000ish cost. The transfer case was most likely replaced too, I'd check the receipts.
