This morning I had booked in for a test drive of the new Land Rover Discovery 5 TD6 HSE Luxury. I was already planning to buy one, even before I test drove but not till mid next year.
I have six months left on the lease of my Range Rover Evoque, which is when I was going to sell it and then order a new Disco 5, which would take about 6 months to build and travel from UK to Aust.
However ,after discussions the dealership is buying my Evoque and paying out the remainder of my 5 year lease, as I don’t have to go through the whole pain of selling.
With that out of the way they found a car that closely meets my needs in their dealer network system, so in 2 or 3 weeks, subject to finance, I should take delivery of a
new Land Rover Discovery 5 TD6 HSE Luxury in Yulong White optioned with:
22” (style 5011) wheels
Seven seats with Ebony leather
Ebony headlining
High gloss charcoal oak veneer
60:40 load through rear seat
Powered 3rd row seats
Tyre monitoring system
Cold climate pack
Drive Pack pro
So in a few weeks and I get the car I have been lusting over since it was released and even the lease finance was approved in 24 hours.

Very exciting MarkDF! Sounds like a beautiful machine!
I must admit that that even though I'm a Defender devotee, I'm seduced by all Land Rovers. Post some pics when you pick it up so those of us who'll probably never own a D5 can live vicariously! 👍
Enjoy!

Well my order has now been changed due to a problem with the dealer’s stock control system, and the car I had on order was mixed up and sold somewhere else.
So I now have on order a HSE Luxury TD6 in Fuji White with 22" 5 Split-Spoke black wheels with:
Seven seat Ebony/Ebony Windsor Leather
Ebony headlining
Charcoal oak veneer
Digital Audio Broadcast Radio
Climate Front Seats with Heated Rear Seats
360-degree Park Distance Control
Heads-up display
Full Length Roof Rails in Gloss Black
Auto Dimming Exterior Mirrors
InControl Protect
Black Design Pack
Drive Pro Pack
Remote Intelligent Seat Fold Pack
I have a few weeks to go before delivery as its now in quarantine and will then be transported from Newcastle to Canberra.

Second vehicle appears to be better than the first?!

Yes its way better optioned, the only 2 things I would have like to also been on the new one that the first one had were the heated steering wheel and TPS.
If this one had those and the Capability Plus Pack it would be perfect. But when you buy a ready made one you make some choices and with all the ones this one has I am over the moon withit and cannot wait for it to arrive.

I was going to spec my new one with TPM too, but the salesman said it was just a warning when you had low tyre pressure, and nothing else, so unticked that box.

Oooh, that's awkward, I've ordered mine with the TPM cause the dealer assured my it was a display with a diagram of the pressure at all 4 individual wheels. One of our dealers is telling porkies.

Mmm, as it was only very cheap option, I took it for gospel that he was correct.
if it shows the PSI, I'm going to have to build a bridge and be excited for you.
looks like either way I'm getting out to check pressure now regardless.
one thing about the Disco is it's sometimes quite hard to tell you have a flat as the air bag suspension is so dam good at covering, so nearly got it just to show a flat for that reason.

Nope, definitely shows full info. Your dealer sales rep needs a kick up the backside.

I got my car last week, but not pictures as I cannot add attachments here. With regards to TPMS, it was actually on my car (missed by the dealer and so FOC) and works exactly as per the video above, except I have not looked at the spare wheel bits as yet.
