G`Day All,
One of my 6x6 landies that works up in the scrub, had a bit of a dingle after one of my labourers failed to apply the handbrake correctly. It took off fully loaded some distance into a culvert drain. Mainly front right impact, but the steering went around on full lock and bent the steering lock bolts. It took one of my 30 ton excavators to retrieve it from its resting place.
Im getting quotes on the repair, but Im wondering what model is the steering box from? It does seem to feel a little odd in the steering and my truck alignment company said that in an impact, it is worth getting the steering shafts in the box x rayed or replaced completely to ensure no hairline cracks have developed. All other steering components are straight and no damage, other than a bent rim and blown tyre.
The guards Im assuming are standard Defender items, with only the bonnet and radiator panel being unique to the 6X6?131607
