Not sure how far these guys pushed the trailer...

I was waiting for it to get away from them...seems they have done it before

Struggled getting the trailer back up...I was about to offer a hand but they had it under control.

Got me buggered how they will retrieve the boat, maybe mum and dad will be home by than

Looks like retrieval will be at high tide so should be less distance to pull the trailer [bighmmm].

Sheer bloody luxury. Had to drag heavier ones than that with no trailer more than a few times. Only kidding. Good on them. Love keen fishers willing to put some effort in [biggrin]

A long rope, attached from trailer to vehicle, and tow it up to a point where it can be hitched to vehicle, the way we used to do beach launches all the time.

It’s actually a boat ramp that cars normally launch at, photo doesn’t show it all that well.

In NZ I saw boat trailers that floated. They would send the whole lot into the sea, anchor the trailer, reverse the boat out and go fishing. Reverse procedure and retrieval of trailer up the beach via long rope until it could be hooked on the ball and driven away. I thought i was a good idea. I couldn't figure out what I was seeing anchored out behind the waves, until another one was launched nearby, and boat and trailer motored out beyond the breakers.

I watched a doco about a Canadian delivering a new Wood boat to a customer on an island... He had to deliver with trailer but no way of getting trailer to island, so he tied trailer to boat and drove the lot over...
Apparently 5 knots was about as fast as it could go before the trailer interfered with handling...

They look young in the photo, could it be they are too young to have a driver's licence for a car and are doing it my hand for that reason, if so, teenagers are ingenious and well done to them.

Aahh the memories. Secure the boat to the trailer with the safety chain, run the winch cable out as far as it will go toward some solid anchor point, if needed, use the anchor rope to make up the shortfall between winch hook and anchor point, winch the cable back onto the spool. By this stage, if you're lucky, the trailer should be back up on the flat, if not, chock wheels and start again [biggrin] .
