Hi All,

This afternoon i discovered a groaning noise coming form the passenger side middle/rear and its only occurs under medium/hard braking. I thought it might have been LCA bushes, but there doesn't seem to be any thumping when hitting potholes, or any movement of the bushes.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

cheers
Geoff

Are your brake pads OK? Could be a pad is completely worn. The last time i ran pads to the metal it was more of a screeching noise, but the newer pads might have a softer marker so you dont damage the disk.

Mrs Navy D often makes those types of noises if I an required to brake hard[biggrin][biggrin][biggrin] The sound location depends on where she is positioned if the kids get to the front seat giving me a variable location for the groan or some times squealing noises.

Disco,

New pads and rotors 3k ago.

Navy,

I dont get that sort of verbal groan, but i feel the heat....lol

I actually think it sounds like a panel flexing under stress, but its hard to test for the exact spot.

cheers

I had this exact same issue occur to me recently in my D4

But then I dropped her off to the shops and all was quiet again ..

Could be just the an airbag or the LCAs groaning under pressure?

Hi all,

So after intensive fault finding, I've tracked the groaning noise down to the Compressor guard, possibly over-tightening. I removed and ran some rubber mold strip between the rock rails and the guard and hey presto.... quiet!

Glad it was a simple fix!
