Hope this is the right thread to post to. Just had a day or two travelling thru Top Crossing Hut, Powers Lookout and then topped it off with Paradise Falls. Now I am no trip leader so apologies for no open invite. The trip was to introduce my very friend to the great outdoors also I was meeting some friends at Top Crossing. I really didn't know how the trip would go being the first one that I have lead so to speak.

I must say WOW the D5 was amazing. I took it up Rocky Inclines in excess of 25 Degrees, I took it thru river crossings. I gave it hell and it kept on impressing me. One of the shots my son (Sam) Clicked on Drive Assist which shows the front Camera we did a river crossing with that on and he said Dad if a fish swam past i would see it. The water was so crystal clear.

I don't know what you are thinking taking that SUV out bush it will all end badly I tells ya, don't you know you need at least 33s and live axles to be going in there.

Good work it's nice to see a D5 in the bush showing it is very capable although the naysayers will still say it isn't a real 4wd.

And they won’t wave to you either in your “Soccer Mum” vehicle - according to FaceBook group reports!!! [emoji48]

Nice one Lee. Any plans to change to more offroad-based tyres?

I was out that way over the weekend in my trusty D2 and the Land Rover club. I'm pleased to see the D5 getting down and dirty out in the wild, where it belongs.

Thanks Guys,

Scott yes I do. I am finding it hard to get Rims that I like. They Tyres I want to get are the BF Goodrich K02's.

Have a look at the steel rims. Not very attractive but robust and relatively cheap. Good for off-road use.

Good to see you out and about the bush Lee,
do the D5 take the same rims as the D4 ( GOE Wheels )

In this thread: < 18" Steel Wheels now available for Discovery 3, 4 and 5 (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/the-verandah/250701-18-steel-wheels-now-available-discovery-3-4-5-a-9.html) >
You can see the 18" wheel fitted to a V6 D5. The steel wheel has a very similar fit to the Compomotove wheel (I have had a prototype steel wheel on my D4)
Photo from the steel wheel thread:

As I understand it the brake package is either identical or very close to it from D4 to D5.
