Disco 2 manual with auto ECU

Hi all. My mate has an ECU from an auto put in his 03 D2 manual trans. It has thrown a constant ABS fault and the error is that the SLABS cannot get a PWM signal.

Can he do anything to make it all.good or does he need to source (very difficult) a 5 speed V8 ECU?

If you're dead lucky I'll figure out where the ECU from the '02 manual V8 I wrecked got to, there's a small pile of D2 leftovers in the back shed.
