That might have been my thread. But buggered if I can find it either. There was talk of me tying some up for those who were interested, but it fell out of favor by the forum at large from a liability perspective. So either deleted or unable to be searched as it would have been posted on the old forum software.
Yes I've made one. Yes, I've recovered off it (winch, not snatch).
Can be easily made oneself with a bit of time.
Sing out if you want some pointers

We should be taut.
Actually, I've been splicing eyes into 40mm 8 strand square rope. Bloody hard on the fingers. Should be finished tomorrow.
Sorry Ian.[bigwhistle]

Or taught, perhaps. Riggers courses are available. Or, ask Tank (says me, ducking...)

Taught- past tense of to teach.
Taut- to be tight (pun on the rope thing- geddit?!). Also used as maritime slang as a 'taut ship' - having a good crew- which by recent accounts, I am not yet proficient [bigwhistle].

Thanks for the picture Cuppa, it looks like horrible stuff to splice. How many tucks in total?
Don.

48 tucks per eye. Any less would be irresponsible, no matter what stated intended purpose might be.

Ha ha. It's not for any Land Rover, and it's just a standard splice.

Someone kindly relieved me of my fid. Even with a fid this lay is tough to open up.
