350RRC

Hi All,
Have one leaking welsh plug in the side of the block of the 350. Has been weeping for some time but now requires some crisis maintenance.
I know how to remove and it is possible, the issue is installation of replacement where it is, right behind the P/side mount.
Can remove the rubber mount (stock RRC) and the plate that holds it to the donk leaving 70mm to the welded chassis mount. Won't be able to use a hammer on the socket installing the new brass one.
Would it be possible to lever the socket in the new plug from the chassis mount to get it in or is the fit going to be too tight?
TIA, DL
