That figures. Spitfires were known for their appalling build quality, fit & finish etc.

The article refers to Fisher and Ludlow and BMC. Brought back memories. My late father worked for both companies and came to Australia with BMC as part of the setup team of their plant at Zetland in Sydney on a 2 year contract in 1957. We ended up staying here (dad said it was the best thing he ever did). Thank goodness he did, I might have ended up being a Pommy b@#$&*d.

Dodged the Swear Filter lately?
see Point 5-
AAAAAA - New Users Start Here! - Conditions of Access etc (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/rules-and-guidelines/165699-aaaaaa-new-users-start-here-conditions-access-etc.html)

The Mods understand you are trying to do the right thing,
and that most of you realise the sites continued existance relies on its G rating.
So,

Just Type The Word

we dont care what it is, (though its meaning may need to be considered--)

Just Type The Word

and let the Swear Filter do its job.
One less thing for us all to worry about.

Hi Pedro.

To quote Maxwell Smart, "Sorry about that chief".

I was trying not to be offensive and actually thought the phrase was usually considered affectionate in normal use but can understand your point. Didn't know about the swear filter though, hence the replacement letters.
