TD5 cracked block !!
I have been stripping down the Disco chasing the cause of running rough and lots of coolant in the sump. Head came off and went for pressure tests

Next oil cooler apart to inspect and reseal

133161
133162
133163

Next checking the bores and measure piston protrusions. Here is where I found a big problem . Number 1 Piston has no protrusion. So bent con rod I recon . Next while inspecting bore found a large crack between bore and coolant gallery. This is where all the coolant is getting in.

So I’m thinking head gasket went , cylinder filled and hydraulic locked causing damage

So I guess the block is a boat anchor now . Any one had one repaired with a liner ?

Any TD5 bottom ends for sale or just get another complete engine ??

I have a Td5 bottom end you can have for free....had a leaking head gasket which ever so slighty tweaked No1 rod.

Just found out the head has a pin hole leak near number 1 inlet also from the machine shop. So the head is no good either. Might have to source a complete engine
