is there a thread I can be pointed at regarding a gurgling noise that appears to be coming from behind the instrument cluster in our MY05 TDV6 SE Discovery.
Or has anyone got any thoughts.
Everything appears normal and works including the aircon.

A couple of things come to mind, aircon drains blocked and air in cooling system. Check the drains first which are accessed from under the vehicle, next check would be leaks in the cooling system or faulty reservoir cap.

Possible brake booster failure. Check if it happens when you press the brakes.

YES the brake booster is the problem ...... and thank you Uberdisco
the engine oil that ends up in the brake booster makes a gurgling noise when you apply the brakes.
boy did you open a can of worms.
Recall around July 2009 ........... P017 (see attached PDF 134005)
and now Land Rover want about $5000 to replace Vacuum pump, Brake Booster and pipe work.

I have a MY 2007 D3 TDV6, I had the recall done for the brake booster done in 2012 at the Brisbane Land rover dealer in the Valley. A few months ago I developed the same booster problem as before, so I went back to the dealer & inquired as to whether this was the same issue. They took the vehicle into their workshop for the day to investigate. They informed me that it was indeed oil in the booster again. I asked them if the recall was supposed to fix the initial problem why has it developed again at approximately the same number of years & kilometers as the first time. Ben at Brisbane Land rover said he would make some inquiries & get back to me. A few weeks later he contacted me & asked me for all the service records. I do most of the servicing myself although I follow a 10 000 Km regime instead of the 12000 required by LR. I do follow the LR service items on the correct LR service forms & maintain copies of these forms as a record. Some work has been carried out by an Indy but I keep complete records of this. I supplied Ben with all of these records. A few weeks later Ben contacted me & said that Land rover would come to the party & do all necessary repairs at no cost to myself. Needless to say I was very impressed.

Same prob here! Recall was done in 2009, now gurgling all over again! I might contact LRA as well, try my luck.

Cheers

They have told me that I will have to pay for the replacement of the Vacuum pump, Brake booster and associated pipe work.
Which is similar to the compressor recall a number of years ago.
I had to pay for a replacement as they would not acknowledge a problem with them, which I did.
And then 12 months later when picking up the car from a service they informed me that they had just replaced the compressor.
I will probably have the repair done elsewhere and then seek compensation from LRA.
