I was fed up with my TF knob being loose. The factory construction involves an unthreaded plastic bush that pushes into the knob. It “forms it’s own thread” when screwed on. BS.
My solution - a push fit brass bush with a tapped thread and a lock nut.
For those following- the thread on the shaft is M12 1.75. The bush is 20.00 mm O/D and 20mm long. I put a 45 deg chamfer on the ends.
Outcome - for 5 min on the lathe- awesome.

That is a good long term solution. If you want to machine a few more up I would be interested in at least 2. The original rubber bush doesn't last long but I have found that if you loctite it in position it does last longer.

The LT 85 has different threads to those. The main lever is 12mm x 1.5 . Tapping drill 10.5 mm or Z. 10.8 mm or 27/64 if you are playing with stainless. I think the transfer lever is 10 mm x 1.25. Tomorrow I will go down the shed and gauge the thread on the transfer lever and confirm. I bought two brass door knobs from the local liquidation shop and tapped them.

I simply turned down a nut of the correct size and fitted it with the appropriate locknut.
The rubber bush is intended to turn the knob into a damper to reduce the vibration of the gear levers.

Yes the LT85 transfer knob thread is 10 mm x 1.25. Tapping drill in mild steel/brass is 8.75 mm or 11/32". In stainless use 8.9 mm or S.
