you should be able to hear the injectors clicking as they work....(whilst cranking).....
i assume you have checked the timing......
not out by 180 degrees......(a very common problem....)

I know its probably a long shot.
1 Is the wire to the coil neg that goes to the injection connected?
2 Haven't got the air flow meter on back to front?
3 Plug wires correct?
4 Injector Earth connected to back of LH head?
5 cold start injector connected?
6Thermo time switch connected?
7 temp sensor to injection connected?

What work was done to the motor? now for an old trick that I have used
3 times after overhauling motors this includes 1 motor bike engine,I did this after motors would not start had fuel and spark etc.
Pull out a plug after cranking the engine if plug is wet pull out the rest and heat them in an oven 180 degrees get them out and in the engine as quickly as possible then start.
Told a mate about this trick he had spent 3 nights trying to get a chev V8
going after a rebuild the engine fired up straight away,I presume when the plugs get wet with fuel it shorts out the spark plug only seems to happen after a rebuild once it fires up problem goes away.

U can get a little light (forgot what it's called again) that attaches to where one of your injector's go, and when u start the engine u should see the light flash, have one for the disco and have used it before... in the end worked out it was the ignition amplifier.

gremlin searched and destroyed
yes, it was a oily earth wire at the bolt up point on the rear of the head, when engine had its hissy fit and blew oil everywhere and from leaking valley cover seal, oil apparently seeped into the wires and caused dodgey connection ,so copiuos amounts of crc spray and a good cleaning and hay presto we have ignition!!!!!! 8) 8) 8)
thanks guys for your helpful advice https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ 8)
